GCS History

GCS was founded in the summer of 1970 by a group of concerned parents who desired an education for their children that was distinctly Christian.  The first year there were a total of twenty students in kindergarten and first grade.  The next year, grades two through four were added and enrollment reached sixty-four students.  In the years that followed, grades five through twelve were added with the first graduating class in 1985.  The school presently has classes for children beginning at K-5 through twelfth grade.  (Preschool is also available for children four years and under in our CDC Program).

Over the years, the facilities have also grown.  The church/CDC/school complex includes a number of new spacious classrooms, modular units, new computer lab, and science lab.  The gymnasium; as well as the soccer and baseball fields provide good areas for athletic practices and games.

Grace Chapel Church supports the school ministry in many ways including care for the facilities and considerable support with utility and custodial expenses.  The school falls under the authority and corporation of the church.
