Students grow closer together

On September 8th-9th, 49 students and 6 staff took off to Littleton, NC, about 20 miles east of Rocky Mount, for our first ever MS retreat. Mike Matson, teacher and local evangelist, traveled to camp with us to encourage the students to “Grow closer to God.” Through Canoeing, kayaking, inflatables, swimming, sports and 9-square, our 6th-8th graders had a blast. They are already looking toward next year. A week later, September 14th-16th almost 100 students took off to Fayetteville, NC to crowd upon Camp Dixie for our annual HS retreat. David Crockett, a school administrator from South Carolina joined us as well to encourage our upper school on how to “experience your growth with God.” The students had a blast, from the camp food, blob, sloparoo, water slide, pool, midnight laser tag and the camp fire- Camp Dixie did not disappoint. The highlight of the whole week there, was Thursday night, when students came together in one of the most “powerful worship” sessions, as many students put it, they have every witnessed. This years retreat will be the highlight of many students school year- and that’s the way we wanted it.
